Abstract
Ovaj rad istražuje efikasnost kamatnog kanala monetarne politike u europodručju, s posebnim fokusom na postpandemijsko razdoblje restriktivne monetarne politike. Analiza se provodi na razini europodručja kao cjeline te na razini pojedinačnih zemalja članica kako bi se identificirali asimetrični učinci monetarne politike. Za procjenu koeficijenta dugoročne ravnoteže između bankovnih i referentnih kamatnih stopa, kao i za procjenu brzine prilagodbe, koristi se ARDL model. Istražuju se odrednice bankarskog sustava koje mogu objasniti varijacije u jačini kamatnog prijenosa među zemljama članicama, koristeći panel model s fiksnim učincima. Analizom se utvrdio heterogen kamatni prijenos među bankovnim proizvodima na razini europodručja i heterogen kamatni prijenos između članica europodručja. Profitabilnost i financijska efikasnost bankarskog sektora kao i kvaliteta aktive značajno opisuju razlike u kamatnom prijenosu među zemljama članicama.
Abstract (english)
This paper examines the effectiveness of the interest rate channel of monetary policy in the euro area, with a particular focus on the post-pandemic period of restrictive monetary policy. The analysis is conducted at both the euro area level and individual member state level to identify asymmetric effects of monetary policy. An ARDL model is used to estimate the long-run equilibrium coefficient between bank and policy interest rates, as well as to assess the speed of adjustment. The study investigates determinants of the banking system that may explain variations in the strength of interest rate pass-through among member countries, using a fixed-effects panel model. The analysis revealed a heterogeneous interest rate pass-through among banking products at the euro area level and a heterogeneous interest rate pass-through between euro area member states. The profitability and financial efficiency of the banking sector, as well as asset quality, significantly explain the differences in interest rate pass-through among member countries.
