In today's era, the complexity of organizational structures and the dynamism of business is growing day by day, and with it there is an increasing need for the introduction of modern SAP-ERP systems that will facilitate the flow of information and decision-making in the organization by integrating all important functional units. Accordingly, the aim of this work will be to analyze the SAP-ERP system and its importance and the benefits that organizations can gain by using it. Additionally, the implementation of the SAP-ERP system itself will be analyzed along with the presentation of the most important and current errors that can occur during one of the implementation phases. The results of the research show a large presence of errors in the process of implementing the software solution, which could have been prevented by adequate support from top management and proper project risk management. After presenting the errors themselves with an explanation of their impact on the organization's performance, an additional goal of this thesis is to analyze implementation case studies and point out recommendations and strategies that organizations could use to minimize the risk of SAP-ERP system implementation failure. In order to prove the presence of frequent errors during the implementation of the mentioned system, case studies on the examples of Lidl, Avon, Nike, and Revlon will be analyzed in detail. On the basis of the presented studies, the most common mistakes of setting unrealistic time expectations for project completion, insufficient focus of business process reengineering and neglect of project management risks have been proven.
