Abstract
Ovaj rad istražuje primjenu proračunskih tablica, s posebnim naglaskom na Microsoft Excel, u kontekstu e-sporta. Fokus je stavljen na analizu Financial Modeling World Cup (FMWC), natjecanja koje okuplja sudionike iz cijelog svijeta kako bi se natjecali u rješavanju složenih financijskih zadataka koristeći Excel. Rad se bavi analizom strukture i kompleksnosti zadataka s FMWC-a, potrebnim vještinama za uspjeh u natjecanju te percepcijom Excela u širem društvenom kontekstu. Metodologija istraživanja uključuje analizu studije slučaja „Jet Hockey“ te anketno istraživanje mišljenja i stavova o primjeni Excela u e-sportu. Rezultati rada doprinose razumijevanju fleksibilnosti Excela i njegovog potencijala za širu primjenu u edukativnim i zabavnim svrsi, čime se promiče digitalna pismenost i kreativno razmišljanje.
Abstract (english)
This research paper explores the usage of worksheets, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel in particular, within the context of e-sports. The focus is also on analysis of the Financial Modeling World Cup (FMWC) competition which gathers participants from all over the world in order to compete in resolving complex financial exercises using Excel. This research paper is also focusing on structure and complexity of FMWC exercises with the necessary skills to succeed in this type of competition as well as the perception of Excel in a wider social context. Research Methodology includes a case study „Jet Hockey“ as well as a survey of opinions and attitudes towards the usage of Excel in e-sports. Results of this research paper are contributing to understanding the flexibility of Excel and its potential for wider usage in educational and entertainment purposes with which it raises awareness of digital literacy and creative thinking.
