Electronic commerce or e-commerce can be defined as a process of buying and selling products or services over the Internet. It is done using computers, tablets, smartphones and other smart devices. Today almost every modern product or service is available through electronic commerce, which makes this form of commerce highly competitive. E-commerce operates in several market segments including business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to- consumer and consumer-to-business. The development of electronic commerce has been extremely rapid and significant as it has led to fundamental changes in the way people buy and sell products. Among other things, electronic commerce has also found its place in the hotel industry. Increased visibility, access to a wider market, digital marketing, simplicity and flexibility of purchase, personalized experience are just some of the advantages of electronic commerce in this sector. This paper also talks about possible payment methods as well as the role and importance of social networks in electronic commerce. Amadria Park is a group with more than 100 years of tradition, with hotels in Šibenik, Opatija and Zagreb. This paper analyzes the use of some electronic commerce tools in the business of Amadria Park - Solaris Hotels, more specifically, the website and options for direct reservation of accommodation via the web, advertising and the use of social networks for marketing and sales purposes are considered. At the end, some suggestions for improving business in the context of electronic commerce were given.
