Abstract
Glavni cilj ovog diplomskog rada je prikazati uspješnost i profitabilnost poslovanja farmaceutskog sektora u Republici Hrvatskoj i kretanje investicija u dugotrajnu imovinu. Kontinuirana ulaganja u dugotrajnu imovinu industrije važna su za njezin razvoj i napredak, konkurentnost na tržištu i poboljšanje kvalitete života. U radu su prikazane glavne karakteristike i pokazatelji industrije te unutarnje i vanjsko okruženje. Također, analizirani su temeljni financijski izvještaji tri vodeće farmaceutske kompanije: Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o., Belupo d.d. i Jadran-galenski laboratorij d.d. Pomoću financijskih izvještaja i ključnih pokazatelja uspoređeno je poslovanje navedenih poduzeća. Provedbom analize utvrđeno je da su sve tri kompanije izvozno orijentirane i da Pliva nadmašuje ostala poduzeća. Pliva ostvaruje daleko najbolje ukupne prihode i prihode od prodaje s čak 60% ukupnih prihoda među deset vodećih farmaceutskih kompanija u Republici Hrvatskoj. Također, i u udjelu ukupne imovine ostvaruju znatno više vrijednosti što je vidljivo i prema kontinuiranim visokim godišnjim izdacima za ulaganja u materijalnu imovinu.
Abstract (english)
The main goal of this thesis is to present the success and profitability of the pharmaceutical sector in the Republic of Croatia, as well as the trends in investments in fixed assets. Continuous investments in the industry’s fixed assets are crucial for its development and progress, market competitiveness, and the improvement of quality of life. The paper presents the main characteristics and indicators of the industry and the internal and external environment. Also, the basic financial statements of three leading pharmaceutical companies were analyzed: Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o., Belupo d.d. and Jadran-galenski laboratorij d.d. By using financial statements and key indicators, the operations of these companies are compared. The analysis reveals that all three companies are export-oriented, with Pliva outperforming the others. Pliva generates significantly higher total revenues and sales revenues, accounting for 60% of total revenues among the ten leading pharmaceutical companies in the Republic of Croatia. Furthermore, in terms of total assets, they also achieve significantly higher values, as evidenced by the continuously high annual expenditures on investments in tangible assets.
