The discounted cash flow method (DCF) is one of the key concepts in valuing companies, projects, and investments, and serves as the basis for making informed decisions about the attractiveness of various opportunities in the global market in the 21st century. This paper specifically explores the application of the DCF method in the context of valuing the company Medika Grupa. From a sectoral perspective, pharmaceutical wholesale plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability and distribution of medical products to a wide range of healthcare institutions, which is essential for the efficient functioning of the healthcare system. Given the limited liquidity of Medika d.d. shares on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and the lack of coverage regarding their intrinsic value, the opportunity for a relevant contribution to a deeper understanding of the intrinsic value of this company arises. This is of strategic importance for the optimal functioning of the Croatian healthcare system. Through a theoretical framework, analysis of financial statements, projection of cash flows, and calculation of the discount rate, the thesis aims to provide a thorough and comprehensive overview of the valuation of this company, contributing to the creation of relevant insights into the intrinsic value of one of the most important players in the pharmaceutical wholesale market in Croatia. Increasing the number of similar studies on less liquid stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange could positively impact the revitalization of the domestic capital market.
