Abstract
Poljoprivreda, šumarstvo i ribarstvo u 21. stoljeću ima sve manji udio u BDP-u kako Hrvatske tako Novog Zelanda, no ona je i dalje jedna od značajnijih gospodarskih grana. Površina zemljišta koja se koristi u poljoprivredne svrhe se u posljednjih 30 godina prepolovila, no uz mehanizaciju je postala sve produktivnija kako bi zadovoljila potrebe rastućeg stanovništva. Uključimo li i prehrambenu industriju uz poljoprivredu, šumarstvo i ribarstvo, vidimo da one zauzimaju značajan dio gospodarstva i zaposlenosti. Prehrambena industrija ima sve veće značenje u gospodarstvu Hrvatske i Novog Zelanda, gdje zapošljava veliki dio stanovništva, povećava BDP i sudjeluje velikim dijelom u izvozu obje države. Proizvodnja i potrošnja prerađene hrane iz godine u godinu raste, kako ljudi nemaju više vremena za kuhanje, te u tome leži njen daljnji potencijal za rast.
Abstract (english)
The agricultural industry in the 21st century has a smaller share of the GDP in both Croatia and New Zealand, but it is still one of the most important economic industries. The amount of land used for agricultural purposes in the past 30 years halved, but with mechanization, the industry has become more productive in order to meet the needs of a growing population. If we include the food industry, along with agriculture, we see that they make up for a significant part of the economy and employment. The food industry is of increasing importance to the Croatian and New Zealand economy, where it employs a large part of the population, increases the GDP and participates largely to the exports of both countries. The production and consumption of processed food increases every year, as people do not have much time to cook anymore, and therein lies its potential for future growth.
