Abstract
The Common Agricultural Policy of European Union has been struggling in connecting its aims, measures and goals with implementing them in the right manner since its beginnings. The support intended for small and medium sized farms, environmental protection, preservation of rural legacy and similar, most often find its way to one and the same political groups. The voice of farmers seems to be heard but not taken into consideration, while each year political interests take over the actual needs and wants of citizens around Europe. Should Common Agricultural Policy be scrapped? Definitely no, but further work on transparency in its operations is needed with aims set at the right direction, followed by a set of measures that will serve the present and future needs of people and nature itself with no more helping the ones that do not need the help over those that really are in need. This thesis will provide a preview on the process of getting the funds for operating in the agricultural sector within the framework of Common Agricultural Policy of European Union. A combination of societal, economic and environmental issues will be studied.

Još od svojih početaka, Zajednička Poljoprivredna Politika Europske Unije se borila sa pravilnim povezivanjem njenih smjernica, mjera i ciljeva sa njihovom implementacijom. Potpora namjenjena malim i srednjim farmama, zaštiti okoliša, očuvanju ruralnog nasljeđa i slično, najčešće nađe svoj put prema uvijek istim političkim grupama. Čini se kako se glas farmera čuje no ne uzima u obzir, dok svake godine politički interesi nadvladaju stvarne potrebe i želje europskih građana. Treba li otpisati Zajedničku Poljoprivrednu Politiku? Definitivno ne, ali potreban je daljnji rad na transparentnosti u njenim operacijama sa smjernicama postavljenim u pravom smjeru, praćeno sa setom mjera koji će služiti trenutnim i budućim potrebama ljudi i same prirode, bez daljnjeg pomaganja onima kojima pomoć nije potrebna preko onih koji su stvarno potrebiti. Ovaj diplomski rad će prikazati proces dobivanja sredstva za operacije unutar poljoprivrednog sektora unutar okvira Zajedničke Poljoprivredne Politike Europske Unije. Kombinacija socijalnih, ekonomskih i pitanja okoliša će biti proučavana.
