Abstract
Krajem 2008. godine financijska je kriza poprimila globalne razmjere i uzdrmala svjetsku ekonomiju. Neposredan okidač krize bio je slom tržišta drugorazrednih hipotekarnih kredita u SAD-u, no uzroci leže u doktrinarnim i pragmatičnim rješenjima koja su već duže vrijeme prevladavala na Zapadu. Intervencijama nacionalnih država, najprije u financijskom, uskoro i realnom sektoru, zaustavljen je daljnji pad gospodarske aktivnosti. Antirecesijske mjere sve se više promišljaju globalno, gdje se skupina G - 20 nameće kao glavni koordinator svjetske ekonomske politike. U uvjetima suvremene globalizirane ekonomije praktički nema nacionalne ekonomije koja bi bila imuna na eksterne šokove. Dugogodišnje odsustvo razvojne strategije i neodgovorno ponašanje nositelja izvršne vlasti, a potom i izostanak primjerene reakcije kada je kriza već nastupila, nacionalnu su ekonomiju učinili izrazito ranjivom u nastaloj kriznoj situaciji. Njene se posljedice po gospodarski napredak još uvijek ne mogu sa sigurnošću procjenjivati, kako na globalnoj, tako ni na nacionalnoj razini.
Abstract (english)
At the end of 2008. the inancial crisis had reached global dimensions and shaken the world economy. Although the imminent trigger of the crisis was the breakdown of the subprime mortgage market, the real causes are to be found in doctrinaire and pragmatic solutions that have been dominant in the West for a considerable period of time. Interventions of nation states, irst in the inancial, and soon afterwards in the real sector as well, prevented the further reduction of economic activity. Antirecessionary measures are now increasingly being considered on a global scale with the group G-20 as the logical main coordinator of global economic policy. In the context of modern globalized economy there is practically no national economy which would be immune to external shocks. The lack of development strategy and the irresponsibility of politicians in the executive power, and then the absence of an appropriate reaction after the onset of the crisis, made the national economy extremely vulnerable in the ensuing breakdown. The consequences of the downfall for economic progress cannot be evaluated with certainty, either on the global or national level.
