Not many leaders understand how important their leadership style is on performance and satisfaction of their employees. They define tangible and intangible rewards and punishments that often shape behavior of employees and affect performance, motivation and attitude. There is a lot of literature that engaged theme of leadership and different leadership styles. Basically we can say that they have developed three styles of leadership: autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire. In the last decade styles of leadership are generally divided into "modern - female" style of leadership and "traditional - male" style of leadership. In this thesis are described necessary skills needed for good leadership, explained integrative leadership, described different leadership styles with an emphasis on "feminine" leadership style and pointed out the differences that occurs on gender basics. For the purpose of the thesis was conducted survey on the employees with various positions in the telecom industry. Objective is to present the results of the dominant style of leadership in the telecom industry according to different hierarchical levels and the perception of the employees whom they manage of dominant leadership style. The results showed that the Democratic leadership style prevalent at all hierarchical levels except the top management. Also, research has shown that the typical "female" management characteristics are more expressed. In addition, in this thesis is presented comparison of a women participation in managerial positions between average participation in Croatia (according to a study made by the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality) and those in the leading companies in the telecom industry. The comparison showed that the percentage of women in management positions is higher in the telecom industry than in a business from various branches who participated in the study of the Ombudsman.
