Abstract
Demografska kretanja u Hrvatskoj su već duže vremena izrazito negativna. Dominantni proces koji se ističe je proces demografskog starenja. Dugoročne posljedice ovog procesa su već sada vidljive, ali u budućnosti bi mogle biti i još izraženije. Kao i većina posttranzicijskih zemalja, Hrvatska je suočena s niskim stopama fertiliteta i stoga joj je potrebna aktivna populacijska politika koja će pomoći u porastu stopa fertiliteta i demografskom oporavku, a s tim povezano i gospodarskom oporavku.
Abstract (english)
Croatia has strongly negative demographic trends for a long time. The dominant process that stands out is the process of demographic aging. Long-term consequences of this process are already visible, but in the future could be even more pronounced. Like most post-transition countries, Croatia is faced with low fertility rates and, therefore, it requires an active population policy, which will help in increasing fertility rates and demographic recovery, and thus linked to the economic recovery.
