Abstract
Na kraju rada i proučavanja literature na temu Rasta stanovništva kroz povijest, od pračovjeka do današnjeg doba, možemo vidjeti da je povijest čovječanstva i promjene u stopama rasta stanovništva bitno utjecale na stanovništvo danas. Rast stanovništva se u počecima čovječanstva odvijao jako sporo, neki povjesničari, demografi kažu da je čovječanstvu trebalo 100 milijuna godina da dostigne 100 milijuna stanovnika Zemlje. Ovim vidno kratkim presjekom povijesti stanovništva mogli smo popratiti što je utjecalo na rast stanovništva, zašto je on tekao sporo i kako je dugo trebalo da dostignemo milijardu stanovnika, a kasnije se taj proces do nove milijarde sve više ubrzavao. Napredak u svakom pogledu je potpomagao rast stanovništva, jer je svaki bio značajan. Tako primjerice još u kamenom dobu kada stanovnici otkrivaju primitivnu poljoprivredu i novi način života, opada smrtnost i stanovništvo počinje polako rasti.
