This study stresses out the growing demand for usage and implementation of enterprise resource planning(ERP) system into the department of controlling. The aim of this study is to find out what is the importance and what part does enterprise resource planning system plays in process of controlling and everyday business for the entire business enterprise. In research, both primary and secondary data were used. Primary qualitative data were obtained using a method of in-depth interview with the two employees from two different departments in company Hanza Media, in which we will try to find the answer about the importance of ERP system for the process of controlling and real time decision making. The two departments in which this interview was held are controlling and IT department. Secondary data were used in theoretical part of the study and they consist of foreign and domestic, scientific and professional sources of data as well as internet websites with the topic of ERP system and controlling using the method of description, induction, deduction, generalization, analysis and synthesis. By analysing collected data, it was found that enterprise resource planning system in the process of decision making and implementing actions in controlling department, has a high influence on the quality of every part of that process.
