Abstract
Važnost funkcije vođenja je u tome što ona pokreće ljude a pokretati ljude znači voditi ih ka ostvarenju ciljeva. Iz tog razloga neki autori poistovjećuju pojmove menadžmenta i vođenja. Oni jesu međusobno povezani pojmovi ali svaki od njih ima svoju ulogu i zadaću. Od menadžmenta se traži da planira i organizira a za vođenje je najvažnije slijeđenje. Menadžment je proces obavljanja poslova pomoću drugih ljudi a vođenje se odnosi na interakciju među ljudima. Najvažniji čimbenik vodstva je sam vođa jer je njegova zadatak da potakne druge. Neke od sposobnosti i predispozicija za dobrog vođu su urođene ali neke treba razviti praksom, obrazovanjem i treningom. Odnos vođe i sljedbenika je vrlo važan. Isto kako vođe utječu na sljedbenike, tako i sljedbenici utiču na vođu pa zato kažemo da je taj proces dvosmjeran. Vođe moraju predstavljati sponu između ljudi i poduzeća te obavljati poslove upravljanja ljudskim potencijalima kako bi se ostvaila cjelovitost sustava i postiglo zadovoljstvo ljudi ali i ciljevi poduzeća.
