Abstract Pravilno skladištenje i transport farmaceutskih proizvoda s ciljem očuvanja kakvoće, djelotvornosti i sigurnosti nužno je tijekom cijelog lanca distribucije. Farmaceutski proizvodi zahtijevaju skladištenje i transport pod određenim uvjetima koji osiguravaju održavanje prvotne kvalitete. Takvi uvjeti zahtijevaju korištenje specijaliziranih skladišta i prijevoznih sredstava.
Abstract (english) Proper storage and transportation of pharmaceutical products in order to preserve their quality, efficacy and safety are necessary throughout the distribution chain. Pharmaceutical products require storage and transport under certain conditions that ensure the maintenance of the original quality. Such conditions require the use of specialized warehouses and types of transportation. Modern technologies can be invaluable tools to gather and document data on the conditions under which a pharmaceutical product is stored from the release by the manufacturer, during transport to delivery. Therefore, a number of manufacturers are faced with an important task. The goal is to deliver these products to the end users in the shortest possible time and with maximum preservation of quality, efficiency and safety. For achieving the aim of this work, a primary research was conducted with a sample of five experts from the pharmaceutical industry and one expert from the wholesale who are heads of logistics departments in their companies and are in charge of managing the entire logistics process necessary for the functioning of the distribution system. More than 95% of pharmaceutical products require transport and storage under conditions with active temperature regulation. Given the representation of the type of transport used by companies, the first place with a high 95-100% is transport by road, and the most common vehicle of transport is a truck with active temperature regulation. In the case of pharmaceutical products, it is important to have temperature monitoring throughout the entire duration of transport, whether by road, sea or air. The price of transport with active temperature control is on average 30-40% more expensive than transport without temperature control. In the pharmaceutical industry, there are very strict controls on the distribution process at every step of the distribution chain. There is a great responsibility on the manufacturers of pharmaceutical products - pharmaceutical companies, as they are responsible for the product reaching the final consumer with the same quality, safety and effectiveness as when it was approved by them for placing on the market, therefore pharmaceutical companies conduct regular audits of contracting third parties responsible for transport at any step of the distribution chain.
