Abstract
Tema istraživanja ovog diplomskog rada je prikazati Europsku uniju kao svjetskog lidera u primjeni obnovljivih izvora energije, napraviti usporedbu s ostatkom svijeta i napraviti detaljnu analizu hidroelektrana u Europi i svijetu. U ovom radu analizirat će se pojedinačno svaki obnovljiv izvor energije, primjenu, prednosti i nedostatke obnovljivih izvora energije. Posebna pozornost posvećena je hidroelektranama, njihovima prednostima, nedostacima kao i njihova primjena u Europi i Hrvatskoj. Danas hidroelektrane imaju važnu ulogu u proizvodnji obnovljive energije i u smanjenju emisija ugljikovog dioksida. Budući da je pokreće voda, hidroenergija ne onečišćuje zrak kao elektrane na fosilna goriva. Ona ipak može imati cijeli niz negativnih utjecaja na riječne tokove, staništa riba i drugih vodenih organizama kao i na životinjske i biljne vrste koje su zaštićene propisima Europske unije i čiji opstanak ovisi o riječnim i jezerskim ekosustavima.U ovom diplomskom radu raspravljat će se i o pozitivnim i negativnim stranama obnovljivih izvora energije i hidroelektrana.
Abstract (english)
The research topic of this Master's thesis is to present the European Union as a world leader in the application of renewable energy sources, make a comparison with the rest of the world and to make a detailed analysis of hydropower plants in Europe and the world. In this paper, each renewable energy source, its application, advantages and disadvantages will be analyzed individually. Special attention is paid to hydropower plants, their advantages, disadvantages as well as their application in Europe and Croatia. Today, hydropower plants play an important role in renewable energy production and in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Because it is powered by water, hydropower does not pollute the air like fossil fuel power plants. However, it can have a number of negative impacts on rivers, fish and other aquatic habitats, as well as on animal and plant species that are protected by European union regulations and whose survival depends on river and lake ecosystems. In this graduate thesis will be discuss both the pros and cons of renewable energy sources and hydropower.
