Emotional intelligence is an increasingly present topic in the business world because of its positive characteristics and benefits that employees with higher level of emotional intelligence bring to the organization. Emotionally intelligent people have more developed abilities to recognize, understand and regulate emotions based on which they can more easily communicate and collaborate with other people in their environment. The importance of emotional intelligence is increasingly recognized by the organizations because employees are their most important resources, and employees with higher level of emotional intelligence show better performance and productivity in their work and also job satisfaction. Job satisfaction is a multidimensional concept that refers to the positive perception of work and everything else related to the work in the organization. Employees who are satisfied with their work show better engagement and invest more effort in performing their tasks. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate whether individuals with higher level of emotional intelligence show higher job satisfaction, because both areas are of great importance to everyone in the organization. Empirical research on the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction was conducted using an anonymous online survey on a sample of 218 employed women and men. The survey questionnaire consisted of two parts, the first part of the questionnaire determined the level of emotional intelligence of the respondents, and the second part the level of job satisfaction. Based on the obtained research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction.
