Abstract
Društveni i gospodarski razvoj svake države treba biti usmjeren k poboljšanju životnoga standarda stanovništva, odnosno svakoga pojedinca. Ekspanzijom stanovništva i velikim razvojem prometa, naročito cestovnog, čovječanstvo se suočava sa velikim problemima u utjecaju istog na okoliš i zdravlje ljudi. Razvoj prometa koji je uvjetovan velikom mobilnošću ljudi, roba i usluga mora biti usklađen s načelima održivog razvoja, a to je ostvarivo samo ako je potrošnja obnovljivih resursa manja od prirodne mogućnosti za obnovom. Budućnost leži u implementiranju inovativnih tehnologija poput inteligentnih transportnih sustava koji nude ne samo tehnička rješenja, već novi način života, novi poslovni pristup i novi kulturološki aspekt življenja za sve sudionike u prometu. Rad analizira kakvu važnost i ulogu imaju inteligentni transportni sustavi u održivom razvoju prometa i kakav je njihov socio-ekonomski učinak.
Abstract (english)
Each country's social and economic development should improve the living standards of the population, i.e., each individual. With the expansion of the population and the significant development of transport, especially road transport, humanity faces major problems in transport impact on the environment and human health. The development of transport, which is conditioned by the great mobility of people, goods and services, must align with sustainable development principles. It is achievable only if the consumption of renewable resources is less than the natural possibility for reconstruction. The future lies in implementing innovative technologies such as intelligent transport systems that offer technical solutions and a new way of life, a new business approach, and a new cultural aspect of living for all road users. The paper analyzes the importance and role of intelligent transport systems in the sustainable development of transport and their socio-economic impact.
