The subject of research in this paper are the challenges in supply chain management in the hotel industry due to the current pandemic. The basic goal of the paper is, based on the knowledge of possible risks in the supply chains of the hotel industry, to offer possible alternative management solutions in such conditions. The objectives are also: to expand knowledge about possible risks, to provide insight into the specifics of risk management and to show the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains in hotel companies. To analyze the impact of the pandemic on supply chains, available recent research by mostly foreign authors was used, as well as available reports and statistics. Empirical research was conducted descriptively, using a one-time research method on a suitable sample of 9 respondents - employees of hotel companies in management positions of the hotel chain Maistra d.d. to explore practices and compare differences. The contribution of this paper is evident in the analysis aimed at improving the supply chain management practices of hotel companies due to unexpected crisis situations, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. In conclusion, hotels that have ongoing suppliers and built relationships cope more easily with the challenges posed by a crisis situation, and existing interconnections and relationships can be a key aspect of industry and supply chain recovery. Also, it is necessary to establish a crisis management team in order to coordinate and systematically manage the supply chain crisis in situations such as a pandemic, all with the aim of maximizing value for the end customer.
