Abstract
Euro područje je monetarna unija u kojoj je zajednička valuta euro. Formiranje zajedničke valute u Europskoj uniji bilo je usmjereno na jačanje ekonomske moći Europske unije te na olakšavanje poslovanja u europodručju. Europodručje čini 19 država članica Europske unije. Republika Hrvatska je u procesu pristupanja europodručju. Prije navedenog procesa, Republika Hrvatska je trebala zadovoljiti određene uvjete koje joj je odredila Europska komisija. Do sada jedino do kraja nije ispunjen uvjet dvogodišnjeg sudjelovanja u ERM II-u. Učinici ulaska Republike Hrvatske u europodručje mogu se razmatrati iz različitih perspektiva. Jedno od područja na koje će djelovati ulazak Republike Hrvatske u europodručje je i bankarski sektor. Dosadašnje analize su pokazale da će hrvatske banke imati veće koristi u odnosu na štete od ulaska Republike Hrvatske u europodručje.
Abstract (english)
The euro area is a monetary union in which the common currency is the euro. The formation of the common currency in the European Union was aimed at strengthening the economic power of the European Union and facilitating business in the euro area. The euro area consists of 19 member states of the European Union. The Republic of Croatia is in the process of joining the euro area. Prior to this process, the Republic of Croatia had to meet certain conditions set by the European Commission. So far, only the condition of two years of participation in ERM II has not been fully met. The effects of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the euro area can be considered from different perspectives. One of the areas that will be affected by the entry of the Republic of Croatia into the euro area is the banking sector. Previous analyzes have shown that Croatian banks will benefit more from the damage caused by the Republic of Croatia's entry into the euro area.
