Abstract
The current stage of the economic development of society is characterized by the formation of a new field of economy known as the digital economy. The development of digital technologies over the past decade has made it easier to identify potential sources of increased efficiency as well as the possibility of more rapid development of market business structures in a competitive environment. A cryptocurrency is a form of digital asset based on a network that is distributed across a large number of computers. This decentralized structure allows them to exist outside the control of governments and central authorities. The aim of this paper is to introduce the topic of virtual digital assets and their legal and regulatory framework and how financial institutions manage digital assets.
Abstract (croatian)
Sadašnju fazu ekonomskog razvoja društva karakterizira formiranje novog područja gospodarstva poznatog kao digitalna ekonomija. Razvoj digitalnih tehnologija u proteklom desetljeću omogućio je lakše prepoznavanje potencijalnih izvora povećanja učinkovitosti kao i mogućnosti bržeg razvoja tržišnih poslovnih struktura u konkurentskom okruženju. Kriptovaluta je oblik digitalne imovine koja se temelji na mreži koja je distribuirana preko velikog broja računala. Ova decentralizirana struktura omogućuje im postojanje izvan kontrole vlada i središnjih vlasti. Cilj ovog rada je predstaviti temu virtualne digitalne imovine i njihov pravni i regulatorni okvir te kako financijske institucije upravljaju digitalnom imovinom.
