The thesis will analyze the sustainability of the value chain of the fashion industry based on the implementation of slow fashion in the world of consumerism, the short life of fashion industry products and the lack of balance of environmental, social and economic goals. Emphasis will be on considering innovative approaches in the global value chains of the fashion industry to achieve a higher level of business sustainability. The goal of the research is to present a set of guidelines and positive practices that lead to the improvement of the sustainability of the fashion industry value chain. The key characteristics and trends that lead to sustainable development, their implementation and long-term effects on the sustainability of the fashion industry value chain will be presented, respecting the perspective of all participants in the value chain. The professional contribution of this paper is the systematization of knowledge about innovative sustainable practices in the fashion industry value chains and the creation of a sustainable business model for companies in the fashion industry. In order to summarize key trends and highlight positive examples in practice that can lead to a higher level of sustainability of the value chain, all available literature (expert articles, works) will be thoroughly studied, and an analysis of trends until 2022, i.e. the impact of the pandemic itself, will be carried out. Moreover, this thesis analyses the impact of COVID 19 on changing trends and the future sustainable development of the fashion industry and its values. The methods that will be used for the purpose of research are analysis, synthesis and compilation methods.
