Abstract | Ožujak 2020.godina i proglašenje pandemije te mjeseci koji su zatim uslijedili pamtit će se živopisno kao rijetko koji događaj u povijesti. Svijet se suočio s neočekivanim zdravstvenim problemom koji je uzrokovao najveće globalno zatvaranje ikada zabilježeno u ljudskoj povijesti, a nedugo zatim zahuktava se i rat u Ukrajini. Ovaj rad stoga prati odgovore zemalja na ekonomske posljedice koje su proizašli iz ove krize. Analizirat će se koliko su dobro pojedine nacionalne vlade uspjele odgovoriti na takva izvanredna događanja, procijeniti i na statističkim podacima dokazati jesu li njihove reakcije bile svrsishode, pravovremene i dobro proračunate. Cilj rada je prikazati spektar raznolikosti ekonomskih pristupa jednom problemu, shvatiti zašto različite zemlje imaju različita stajališta oko podobnosti pojedinih mjera te izvući pouku za eventualne buduće krize. Usporedit će se stanje na samom početku krize kada je neizvjesnost bila velika i znanje na labavim nogama sa trenutnim stanjem i najnovijim podacima. Struktura rada jasna je i kreće od definiranja zdravstvene krize na primjerima iz prošlosti, pratit će se tijek COVID19 krize i posljedice iste na makroekonomske pokazatelje te obrambene ekonomske reakcije odabranih zemalja na takva događanja u svijetu. Zemlje koje ovaj rad analizira su Kina kao kolijevka pandemije, Sjedinjene Američke Države kao predstavnica zapada, Europska unija kao predstavnica Europe, Ukrajina zbog posebnosti političko- ekonomskog stanja u kojem se trenutno nalazi te Republika Hrvatska koju je uvijek zanimljivo usporediti u istraživanjima ovog tipa. Uvelike se rad oslanja na podatke skupljene u svjetski priznatim bazama podataka te njihovoj sveobuhvatnoj analizi kako bi se ušlo u dubinu teme, a raznolikost unutar uzorka dat će potrebnu širinu zaključku ovog rada. Svako od ovih gospodarstava djelovalo je prije krize na svoj način te je jasno da su politike za vrijeme COVID-19 krize bile drugačije. Ipak, sličnosti ima, a brzi oporavak svijeta znak je da su potezi bili poprilično promišljeni, ako se oduzme utjecaj rata u Ukrajini na koji je teško utjecati. |
Abstract (english) | March 2020 and the declaration of the pandemic, as well as the months that followed, will be vividly remembered as a rare event in history. The world was faced with an unexpected health problem that caused the largest global shutdown ever recorded in human history, and not long after, the war in Ukraine was heating up. This paper therefore follows the countries' responses to the economic consequences that have arisen from this crisis. It will be analyzed how well individual national governments responded to such an extraordinary event, and it will be evaluated and proven using statistical data whether their reactions were expedient, timely and well calculated. The aim of the paper is to show the spectrum of diversity of economic approaches to a problem, to understand why different countries have different views on the suitability of certain measures, and to draw lessons for possible future crises. The situation at the very beginning of the crisis, will be compared with the current situation and the latest data. The structure of the work is clear and starts from defining the health crisis using examples from the past, the course of the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences on macroeconomic indicators and defensive economic reactions of selected countries to such events in the world will be followed. The countries analyzed in
this paper are China as the cradle of the pandemic, the United States as a representative of the West, the European Union as a representative of Europe, Ukraine due to the particularity of the political and economic situation in which it currently finds itself, and the Republic of Croatia, which is always interesting to compare in research of this type.The paper rely largely on data collected in world-renowned databases and their comprehensive analysis in order to get into the depth of the topic, and the diversity within the sample will give the necessary breadth to the conclusion of this paper.Every of selected economy had their own way of handling the crisis, but fast recovery is the sign that they all did good job in stabilizing their economy, that said is if we deduct the impact of Russian invasion on Ukraine, that is something that one can not control. |
