Abstract
Ovaj rad definira i ukratko opisuje kategorije razvojnih teškoća kojima se koristi područje odgoja i obrazovanja, kao i socio-emocionalni razvoj djece s teškoćama u razvoju. Također, u radu su navedene definicije darovitosti, osnovne sastavnice darovitosti, obilježja darovitih pojedinaca te definicija i obilježja darovite djece s teškoćama u razvoju. Cilj rada je ukazati na prisutnost darovite djece s teškoćama u razvoju, prikazati neke karakteristike darovite djece s Asperger sindromom, ADHD-om i specifičnim teškoćama u učenju. Također, naglašava se važnost identifikacije ove dvostruko izuzetne djece jer ako se ne identificiraju kao dvostruko iznimni, mogu proći potpuno nezamijećeno po pitanju darovitosti, teškoća ili oboje te mogu ostati bez potrebne podrške, što može imati veliki utjecaj na njihov socio-emocionalni razvoj i školski uspjeh.
Abstract (english)
This paper defines and briefly describes the categories of developmental disabilities used in the field of upbringing and education, as well as the socio-emotional development of children with developmental disabilities. Definitions of giftedness, basic components of giftedness, characteristics of gifted individuals, and definitions and characteristics of gifted children with developmental disabilities are also provided. The aim of the paper is to indicate the presence of gifted children with developmental disabilities, to show some characteristics of gifted children with Asperger syndrome, ADHD and children with specific learning disabilities. Also, the importance of identifying these twice exceptional children is emphasized because, if they are not identified as twice exceptional, they may go completely unnoticed in terms of their giftedness, developmental difficulties or both and may therefore remain without the necessary support, which can have a great impact on their socio-emotional development and school success.
