Abstract
U vrijeme kada svakodnevno svjedočimo brojnim napretcima u različitim područjima istraživanja, nove spoznaje brišu postojeće granice i stvaraju veze između različitih polja. Jedan od takvih primjera je i onaj koji se tiče implementacije spoznaja iz područja robotike u dijagnostiku i terapiju poremećaja iz spektra autizma (PSA). Brojna istraživanja potvrdila su pozitivan učinak robota u terapiji djece s PSA-om. Roboti su se zbog svojih specifičnih karakteristika pokazali učinkovitima u podučavanju djece komunikacijskim i socijalnim vještinama. Upravo zbog značaja kojeg roboti imaju u novim pristupima u dijagnostici i terapiji djece s PSA-om ovo je istraživanje za cilj imalo ispitati preferenciju i usmjerenost djece s PSA-om na robota u različitim kontekstima u odnosu na djecu urednog razvoja koja su poslužila kao kontrolna skupina. U tu svrhu korištena su dva zadatka koja su predstavljala dva različita konteksta, a uzorak je činilo desetero djece urednog razvoja i desetero djece s PSA-om. U slučaju prvog zadatka ispitivale su se razlike između dvije skupine djece po pitanju preferencije robota odnosno predmeta. Drugi zadatak uključivao je osobu u dijalogu s robotom. U ovom drugom scenariju, za razliku od prvog, robot je govorio i kretao se. Rezultati su, u skladu s prvom hipotezom rada, pokazali kako nije bilo značajne razlike između dvije skupine ispitanika u prvom zadatku u kojem je robot bio statičan i u kombinaciji s predmetom. U slučaju drugog zadatka značajna razlika između skupina pronađena je po pitanju vremena provedenog gledajući u osobu čime je djelomično potvrđena hipoteza koja je nalagala da će djeca s PSA-om pažnju usmjeravati isključivo na robota dok će djeca urednog razvoja izmjenjivati fokus pažnje između oba sudionika dijaloga. Konačno, kroz određene varijable ispitivala se i razlika u socijalnoj kompetenciji između dvije skupine te je analizom rezultata pokazano kako su djeca urednog razvoja u slučaju prvog zadatka više usmjeravala pažnju pratnje na objekt interesa negoli su to činila djeca s PSA-om zbog čega je djelomično potvrđena i treća hipoteza koja je pretpostavljala razlike između dvije skupine na varijablama koje označavaju neki vid socijalne kompetencije.
Abstract (english)
In times of numerous advancements in different fields, new findings erase the existing boundaries and create links between them. Such example is the implementation of robotics knowledge into diagnostics and therapy of children with autism spectrum disorder. Much research has acknowledged the positive effect robots have in ASD therapy. Due to specific features, robots have proven effective in teaching children communication and social skills as part of interactions. Because of the potential significance robots have in new approaches to diagnostics and therapy of ASD, this research aims to see preferences and focus of children with ASD on robots in different contexts compared to the typically developing children that were used as a control group. Two tasks were used, i.e. two different contexts, on samples of 10 typically developing children and 10 children with ASD. Frist task had purpose of finding differences between the two groups in regard to preferences for the robot or an item. In the other task instead of an item a person was included and the robot was talking and moving. The findings show there was no significant differences between the two groups in the first assignment where the robot was static and in combination with an item. Notable difference was found in the second assignment with respect to the time children spent looking into the person. This partially confirmed hypothesis that children with ASD will direct their attention solely on the robot, whereas the typically developing children will interchange focus between both dialogue participants. Finally, differences in social competencies between the two groups were examined. The results show that typically developing children directed their parents attention to their object of interestmore than the children with ASD. Thus the third hypothesis, which assumed differences in variables that meant some kind of social competence, was partially confirmed.
