Spina bifida belongs to the group of congenital malformations of the neural tube; the embryonic structure from which then develop the brain; the spinal cord and the structures that surround it. It is an incomplete closure of the vertebrae and sheaths around the spinal cord. When the spinal cord or lumbosacral nerve roots are affected, which is common, all muscles below the level of the change can be affected by varying degrees of paralysis. Goals of this research are to empower the family of child with spina bifida and the production, implementation, and evaluation of an educational and rehabilitation program for the child.The early intervention educational-rehabilitation program was conducted from November 2017 to March 2020. The research used a qualitative and quantitative approach for data collection and analysis. Data was collected using the Munich Functional Development Diagnostics instrument and a semi-structured interview. The interview examined how the provision of educational and rehabilitation support contributes to the empowerment of the family. The contribution of early educational and rehabilitation methods to the overall psychomotor development of a child was followed by the Munich Functional Developmental Diagnostics. As expected, the results of this study confirm the initial hypothesis that the provision of professional support, through early family intervention services for a child with severe motor impairments, has a positive effect on the overall psychomotor development of the child, reducing maternal perceived stress and empowerment after implementation of the program.
