Abstract
Govor pojedinca slušatelju pruža mnogo više informacija od samog semantičkog sadržaja poruke. Kvaliteta glasa te njegovi akustički parametri slušatelju omogućuju procjenu brojnih govornikovih tjelesnih, psiholoških i društvenih karakteristika, isključivo na temelju glasa. Ovaj diplomski rad daje pregled dosadašnjih saznanja o povezanosti akustičkih parametara glasa i percepcije glasa, s obzirom na pubertet i stariju životnu dob, spolne razlike, menstrualni ciklus, tjelesna obilježja (izgled lica, visina i težina) i seksualnu orijentaciju. Također, rad daje pregled dosadašnjih saznanja o povezanosti akustičkih parametara glasa i privlačnosti vlastitog i tuđeg glasa. Saznanja o tome koje tjelesne promjene imaju perceptivni značaj u glasu, a koje ne čine razliku, omogućuju bolje razumijevanje društvenih odnosa na više razina. Istraživanja mogu biti od velikog primjenjivog značaja u području logopedije, npr. pri razvoju terapija za osobe s poremećajima glasa. Veliku će korist imati i slušatelji, bili oni kliničari ili svakodnevni sugovornici osobe, koji će lakše moći procijeniti karakteristike govornika.
Abstract (english)
In spoken communication, the speaker provides the listener with more information that just semantic content. Vocal quality and it’s acoustic parameters can provide numerous physical, psychological and social characteristics of the speaker, without visual input. This Master’s thesis will show an overview of the scientific literature and research regarding the correlation between acoustic parameters of voice and perception of voice. In this context, it will focus on puberty and aging, on sex differences, on menstrual cycle, physical attributes such as face, height and weight, as well as on sexual orientation. The correlation between voice parameters and voice attraction will be explored. It will offer insight into the physical changes that affect the perception of voice and into those that do not. It will provide a deeper understanding of social interactions of many levels. Speech therapists will be able to integrate the research provided into clinical practice to modify and develop new therapeutic options for their patients with voice disorders. More research in this field may enhance the evaluation and perceptual skills of clinicians or lay people, regarding the physical, psychological and social characteristics of a speaker.
