Abstract
U prošlosti pa i danas svijet se uvelike oslanjao na bakrene kabele. Međutim, neke od dosadašnjih prednosti bakra se više ne mogu usporediti s tehnologijama optičkih vlakana. U ovom radu opisana su svojstva svjetlovodnih materijala koja su temelj njihove primjene u svijetu. Prikazana je podjela svjetlovoda te su detaljnije opisane karakteristike. Na više primjera je prikazana primjena svjetlovoda.
Abstract (english)
In the past and even today, the world relied heavily on copper cables. However, some of the current advantages of copper can no longer be compared to fiber optic technologies. This paper describes the properties of fiber optic materials that are the basis of their application in the world. The division of the optical fiber is shown and the characteristics are described in more detail. The application of fiber optics is shown in several examples.
