Abstract
Osnovni cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je istražiti optimiziranu tehno-ekonomsku integraciju postrojenja na morske valove u električnu mrežu otoka, s posebnim naglaskom na otok Vis u Jadranskom moru. U drugom poglavlju pružena je sveobuhvatna definicija energije valova i razmatrane su klasifikacije i tehnologije povezane s postrojenjima na morske valove. Dodatno, razmatrani su različiti tipovi sučelja između postrojenja na morske valove i mreže, kao i potencijalni utjecaj tih postrojenja na mrežu otoka i njegov električni sustav. Treće poglavlje ovog rada usmjereno je na modeliranje energije valova koji okružuje otok Vis. Korištena je Froudeova metoda skaliranja za prilagodbu postrojenja Wavestar i Wavebob specifičnim morskim uvjetima oko Visa. Također je korišten softverski alat PowerFactory za modeliranje električne mreže otoka, provođenje simulacija i prikazivanje električnih parametara dobivenih iz stvarnih podataka prikupljenih na Visu. Ovo poglavlje uključivalo je simulacije različitih scenarija koji uključuju integraciju fotonaponskih elektrana i postrojenja na morske valove, a rezultati su prikazani vizualno i numerički. Na kraju, četvrto poglavlje izvlači zaključke iz analize ovog rada, fokusirajući se na ekonomske aspekte integracije postrojenja na morske valove u mrežu u usporedbi s troškovima povezivanja otoka s glavnom elektroenergetskom mrežom. Rezultati pokazuju da su postrojenja na morske valove održiva i povoljna opcija u ovom kontekstu
Abstract (english)
The primary objective of this thesis was to explore the optimized techno-economic integration of wave energy converters into an island's electrical grid, with a particular focus on the island of Vis in the Adriatic Sea. In the second chapter, a comprehensive definition was provided of wave energy and classifications and technologies associated with wave energy converters were discussed. Additionally, different interface types between wave energy converters and the grid were discussed, as well as the potential impact of these converters on the island's grid and its electrical power system. The third chapter of this thesis centred around modelling the wave energy potential surrounding the island of Vis. The Froude scaling method to adapt Wavestar and Wavebob wave energy converters to the specific sea conditions around Vis were utilised. Also, PowerFactory software tool was used to model the island's power grid, conduct simulations, and presented electrical parameter values derived from real-world data collected on Vis. This chapter included simulations of various scenarios involving the integration of photovoltaic power plants and wave energy converters, with the resulting data being both visually and numerically presented. Finally, the fourth chapter draws conclusions from the findings of this thesis, focusing on the economic aspects of integrating wave energy converters into the grid compared to the costs associated with connecting the island to the main power grid. The results demonstrate that wave energy converters are a viable and advantageous option in this context.
