Abstract
Sunčeva energija je najvažniji i najrasprostranjeniji oblik energije na Zemlji o kojoj ovisi svako živo biće. Kroz povijest su ljudi naučili kako koristiti sunčevu energiju da bi je pretvorili u toplinsku ili neki drugi oblik energije. U modernije doba, dolaskom fotonaponskih ćelija, naučili smo sunčevu energiju izravno pretvarati u električnu. U doba kada je Zemlja onečišćena najviše prekomjernim spaljivanjem fosilnih goriva, sunčeva energija uz energiju vjetra i hidroenergiju predstavlja najperspektivniji i najčišći izvor energije u budućnosti. Međutim, izravna pretvorba sunčeve energije u električnu zasad je neekonomičan način iskorištenja energije sunčevog zračenja. Zbog toga se nastoji podići stupanj iskoristivosti fotonaponskih ćelija koji danas iznosi tek oko 20 %. Osim povećanja stupnja iskoristivosti drugi način za povećanje proizvodnje fotonaponskih sustava je montiranje na tzv. Solarne trackere, tj. sustave koji zakreću solarne panele i usmjeravaju ih okomito na Sunce. Panel koji je montiran na solarni tracker može povećati proizvodnju električne energije od 25 do čak 40% ovisno o zemljopisnoj širini na kojoj se nalazi. U sklopu ovoga rada osmišljen je i izrađen dvoosni solarni tracker koji se koristi za zakretanje panela od 90 W prema Suncu. Tracker je osmišljen na način da bude malen i što jednostavniji, ali da ima sve funkcionalne dijelove kao i trackeri u komercijalnoj upotrebi.
Abstract (english)
Solar energy is the most important and widespread form of energy on Earth, and every living being depends on it. Throughout history, people learned numerous ways with which to convert solar energy into thermal or any other form of energy. In modern times, with the occurrence of photovoltaic cells, we learned how to convert solar energy directly into electricity. Today, when most of Earth’s pollution comes from negligent fossil fuel combustion, solar energy, in addition to wind energy and hydropower, represents the most promising and the cleanest future energy source. However, directly converting solar energy into electricity is still considered to be an uneconomic way of using solar energy. Because of this, people are constantly trying to raise the level of efficiency of photovoltaic cells, which today amounts to 43 about 20%. Apart from raising the efficiency of photovoltaic cells, there is another way to increase the production of photovoltaic systems by mounting them onto solar trackers - systems that rotate the solar panels and point them perpendicular to the position of the Sun. A panel mounted onto the solar tracker can increase the production of electricity from 25%-40%, depending on its latitude. As an addition to this paper, a biaxial solar tracker used to rotate a 90W panel towards the Sun was designed and made. The tracker’s design was devised to be as small and simple as possible, but it still had all of the functional components as the trackers designed for commercial use..
