Objectives: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of anxiety and depression among students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Participants and Methods: Sixty-four students (44 women and 20 men) participated in the study. The survey was conducted in December 2021 using an online questionnaire consisting of three parts. The first part was the socio-demographic questionnaire, the second part was the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and the third part was the General Anxiety Disorder- 7 (GAD -7). Results: Data from 64 students were analysed, including 12 (18.8%) students of Physiotherapy, 45 (70.3%) of Nursing, and 7 (10.9%) of Dental Medicine, with a mean age of 28 ± 10 years. The mean level of depression was 6.91 ± 1.49 and anxiety was 5.52 ± 4.81 for all students. Depression is positively correlated with anxiety. Depression and anxiety are positively correlated with gender and negatively correlated with the financial situation. The results of the PHQ-9 and GAD -7 questionnaires indicate significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety in female students than in male students. There is a statistically significant difference between students' depression and anxiety scores in relation to their financial situation, with the highest score in students with the below-average financial situation. The data show significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety among first-year students compared to other years. Although there are no statistically significant differences in the levels of depression and anxiety, they are the lowest among Nursing students. Conclusion: A high prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms was found among undergraduate students. Females, students with poorer financial circumstances, and first-year students have higher levels of depression and anxiety. Nursing students have the lowest levels of depression and anxiety.
