Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Cilj je istraživanja procijeniti sposobnost studenata dentalne medicine da uz pomoć dvaju ključeva boja točno odrede boju zuba, te utvrditi utječe li kliničko znanje studenata dentalne medicina na sposobnost prepoznavanja boje zuba. Nacrt studije: Presječna studija provedena u Osijeku. Ispitanici i metode: U ispitivanju je sudjelovalo 60 studenata dentalne medicine podijeljenih u dvije grupe po 30 studenata. U prvoj grupi sudjelovali su studenti 1. i 2 godine, a u drugoj grupe studenti 5. i 6. godine. S pomoću dva ključa boja sa skrivenom numeracijom boja studenti su morali usporediti boje zuba i postaviti ih na odgovarajuće mjesto na ključu boja. Rezultati: Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da su studenti 5. i 6. godine imali veći broj točnih odgovora od studenata 1. i 2 godine. Također rezultati pokazuju, da je najviše točnih odgovora bilo na bojama 01 i 4D, a najmanje točnih odgovora bilo je na bojama 6C i 3E. Zaključak: Na temelju ovog istraživanja možemo zaključiti da stupanj edukacije studenata dentalne medicine utječe na sposobnost u određivanju točne boje zuba.
Abstract (english)
Objectives: The aim of this research was to assess the dental medicine students’ accurate tooth colour matching ability with the help of two dental shade guides, and to determine whether the dental medicine students’ clinical knowledge affects their ability to recognize tooth colour. Study plan: This research was organized as a cross-sectional study in Osijek. Participants and methods: 60 dental medicine students, divided into two groups of 30, participated in the study. The first group consisted of 1st and 2nd year students, and the second group of 5th and 6th year students. Using two dental shade guides with hidden colour numbering, students had to compare tooth colours and match them accurately to the dental shade guide. Results: Research results show that 5th and 6th year students had more correct answers than 1st and 2nd year students did. The results also show that most correct answers related to colours 01 and 4D, and least correct answers to colours 6C and 3E. Conclusion: Based on this research, we can conclude that the dental medicine students’ level of education affects their ability to determine the correct colour of teeth.
