The application of Injury Prevention Strategies in Amateur Soccer Players Objectives: The basic goal of the research was to examine the frequency of using injury prevention methods in amateur football. Study design: The survey was conducted as a cross-sectional survey during January and February 2021 via an online questionnaire consisting of 9 questions. Participants and methods: Respondents were 103 amateur footballers selected at random who play in various clubs competing in ranks lower than the 3rd HNL. Results: A small number of amateur football players do not use injury prevention methods (23.3%), and their use is significantly influenced by attending football school. The most commonly used injury prevention methods are stretching before and after training or matches and muscle strengthening exercises. Senior amateur footballers who play football longer have a higher number of injuries than younger amateur footballers. Research has shown that more senior footballers use injury prevention methods to a greater extent than younger footballers. There are no differences in injury prevention methods depending on the league which amateur footballers play in. Also, no difference was found between amateur footballers who implement injury prevention methods and those who do not implement them due to musculoskeletal injuries. Conclusion: Research has shown that senior players and players who play amateur football for a long time use prevention methods significantly more than those who play football for a much shorter time. Also, attending football school affects substantially the use of injury prevention methods.
