Objective: To examine the opinions of first- and second-year students of the graduate university nursing studies about assisted reproductive technology (ART). Study design: A cross-sectional study. Respondents and methods: A total of 60 students at the graduate university study of Nursing in Sveta Nedelja participated in this research. The research was conducted using an anonymous questionnaire via Google Forms, during April 2023. Sociodemographic data and opinions about assisted reproductive technology were examined. Results: This research has shown that nursing students fully agree with the statement that a woman's financial situation should not have an impact on the availability of conducting ART (56,7 %) and that children who were born with the help of ART have the same characteristics and development course as children conceived naturally (51,7 %). On the contrary, the biggest disagreement comes with the statement that the use of ART is justified for the purpose of choosing the gender of the future child (58,3 %). Students aged 30 and yunger are significantly more likely to agree that health professionals who participate in the ART procedure can refuse to perform the procedure due to a call for advice (P = 0,008). Also, according to the results of the examination of the difference in opinions, it was found that there was greater agreement with some statements with regard to the students’ year of study. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a need to educate and inform nursing students about ART, which would enable them to improve their work competencies and provide quality support to their patients.
