Abstract
Ovaj rad istražuje komunikacijski protokol Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) i mehanizme upravljanja zagušenjem u mreži. U uvodnom dijelu rada, pružen je pregled mreža, uključujući uvod u mreže i referentne modele poput OSI referentnog modela i TCP/IP referentnog modela. Drugi dio rada usredotočuje se na TCP protokol, opisujući različite inačice TCP-a. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada korišteni su alati poput ns-3, NetAnim i Wireshark za simuliranje i promatranje TCP protokola. Detaljno su opisani korišteni alati i skripta koja je izvršena za provođenje simulacija s inačicama NewReno i WestWood. Na kraju, u zaključku rada doneseni su rezultati eksperimenta i izvedeni zaključci. Analizirani su rezultati simulacija s oba TCP protokola te su iznesene spoznaje o njihovom ponašanju i učinkovitosti u različitim scenarijima. Rad je pružio dublje razumijevanje TCP protokola, mehanizama upravljanja zagušenjem i njihove primjene u mrežama.
Abstract (english)
This paper explores the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and congestion control mechanisms in networks. The introductory section provides an overview of networks, including an introduction to networks and reference models such as the OSI reference model and TCP/IP reference model. The second part focuses on the TCP protocol, describing different versions of TCP. In the experimental section, tools such as ns-3, NetAnim, and Wireshark were used to simulate and observe the TCP protocol. The tools used and the script executed for conducting simulations with NewReno and WestWood versions are described in detail. Finally, the results of the experiments are presented and conclusions are drawn. The results of the simulations with both TCP protocols are analyzed, and insights into their behavior and effectiveness in different scenarios are provided. This paper provides a deeper understanding of the TCP protocol, congestion control mechanisms, and their applications in networks.
