Abstract
Video je sastavni dio tehnologija World Wide Weba te je važno da te tehnologije uključuju kodere/dekodere koji su kvalitetom sumjerljivi s komercijalnim koderima/dekoderima, a mogu se slobodno koristiti bez potrebe za plaćanjem naknada. WebM je otvoreni format za medijske datoteke koji uključuje VP8 i VP9 kodere/dekodere koji mogu ispuniti specifične zahtjeve za uporabu na webu. Nakon definicije osnova rada VP8/VP9 formata, predloženo je par profila za kodiranje. Za kraj je napravljena usporedba s konkurentnim formatima.
Abstract (english)
Videos is a core part of World Wide Web and it is crucial that license free codecs are of comparable quality to the commercial ones. WebM is a container format using VP8/VP9 to fullfil the needs of internet videos and streaming. With basics of how VP8/VP9 works, this work continues to explore the vast world of WEBM format and it's coding profiles. In the end, a comparsion is made with similiar codecs.
