Abstract
Ovim završnim radom dat je kratak opis povijesti razvoja nuklearnih reaktora te pobliže opisana generacija reaktora čije se korištenje planira u budućnosti. Glavna tema je tip reaktora nove generacije, nuklearni reaktor hlađen rastaljenom soli. Opisan je princip rada takvog tipa reaktora i njegove osnovne karakteristike. Razrađene su vrste nuklearnog goriva i gorivnih ciklusa koje se mogu koristiti u nuklearnom reaktoru hlađenom rastaljenom soli. Napravljena je usporedba bitnih svojstava reaktora s postojećim tipovima, prvenstveno s lakovodnim nuklearnim reaktorom. Opisani su sigurnosni sistemi koje će reaktor koristiti te materijali koji su potrebni kako bi njegova izgradnja bila moguća. Osim opisivanja primarne svrhe reaktora, proizvodnje električne energije, opisana je i mogućnosti korištenja tog tipa reaktora za proizvodnju vodika. Na kraju rada su navedeni tehnološki problemi i zadaci koje je potrebno ispuniti ako se želi napraviti reaktor pogodan za komercijalnu upotrebu.
Abstract (english)
This paper gives a brief description of the nuclear reactor development through history and detail description of the new generation nuclear reactors that are planned to be used in the future. The main theme is one of the fourth generation nuclear reactor concept, molten salt nuclear reactor (MSR). The paper describes the working principle of this type of reactor and its main features. It elaborates types of nuclear fuels and fuel cycles that can be used in molten salt nuclear reactor. Also it compares MSRs essential characteristics with the characteristics of existing reactor types, primarily with light water nuclear reactor. In addition to describing the primary reactor purpose, electricity generation, it describes the possibility of using this type of reactor for hydrogen production. Technological problems and tasks to be fulfilled if we want to make MSR suitable for commercial use are named at the end of the paper.
