Abstract
Zadatak je bio napraviti sustav za nadzor podatkovnih centara u trodimenzionalnom svijetu. Sustav treba prikazati serverske ormare, servere i ostale uređaje koji se nalaze unutar serverske sobe kao trodimenzionalne objekte kako bi oni bili interaktivni, odnosno kako bi se na njima mogle izvoditi akcije kroz sučelje sustava. Kao izvor podataka o stanju podatkovnog centra poslužila je 42ITy platforma razvijena od strane Eaton Corporationa. U sklopu projekta integrirao sam 42ITy platformu preko web servisa posrednika s aplikacijom za nadzor podatkovnih centara. Web servis posrednik napravljen je uz pomoć .NET tehnologija, u programskom jeziku C#. Za dohvat podataka koristi se REST klijent koji pozivima na REST sučelje platforme dohvaća podatke te ih prosljeđuje aplikaciji za nadzor. U aplikaciji za nadzor bilo je potrebno te podatke nekako i prikazati te se oni prikazuju uz pomoć grafova. Grafovi sa podacima se prikazuju interaktivno nakon odabira pojedinog servera iz sučelja i to samo za taj odabrani server. Za aplikaciju za nadzor podatkovnih centara koriste se dvije glavne tehnologije: Three.js za izradu trodimenzionalnih objekata te React kao JavaScript biblioteku za razvoj korisničkog sučelja i arhitekture komponenata aplikacije. Unutar aplikacije za nadzor osim osnovnog modela podataka i grafova radio sam uređivač serverskih soba. Unutar uređivača korisnik može dodavati nove serverske ormare i nove servere, brisati i pomicati postojeće serverske ormare i servere. Pomicanje serverskih ormara odvija se na način da korisnik vuče serverski ormar mišem te se na svaki njegov pomak u pozadini računa nova pozicija serverskog ormara i osvježava se ekran neprimjetnom brzinom.
Abstract (english)
The assignment was to build a system for monitoring the work of data centers in three dimensional world. The system has to show racks, servers and all other devices, which are usually inside a server room, as 3D objects. They have to be interactive which means there is a possibility of interaction and making some actions with them. As the datasource of the current state of the data center we used 42ITy platform, developed by Eaton Corporation. Within the scope of the project I integrated the 42ITy platform with our application through proxy, a web service which was built using .NET framework and in C# programming language. The web service uses custom REST client to send REST requests and to collect data from 42ITy platform and sends it back to the monitoring application. It was important to show the data in the monitoring application so I used graphs to do that. Graphs with data are interactive and they are shown after you click on a server. Data in the graphs are only for the particular server which was clicked. In the development of the application for monitoring data centers two main technologies were used: Three.js for rendering 3D objects and React as JavaScript library for developing user interface and to define the architecture of our components. Within the monitoring application, besides the base data model and graphs, I worked on server room editor. Inside the editor the user can add new racks and servers, remove and move existing racks and servers. The user moves racks with the mouse. As the user drags the rack, its position is recalculated in every step and the screen is refreshing so the user has the experience as if dragging the rack.
