Abstract
Ovaj rad detaljno analizira fizikalnu pozadinu kromatske disperzije u svjetlovodnim vlaknima. Obrađene su i objašnjene materijalna i valovodna disperzija, komponente koje sačinjavaju kromatsku disperziju, utjecaj spektralne širine izvora, te je objašnjena grupna brzina signala u svjetlovodu. Dan je pregled tri različite metode kompenziranja disperzije, svjetlovoda za kompenzaciju disperzije (DCF), Braggova rešetka s promjenjivim periodom rešetke i elektronička kompenzacija disperzije. Obrađena su i objašnjeni principi rada dva različita sustava za mjerenje disperzije, s dvije različite tehnike mjerenja parametra disperzije. Objašnjeni su principi rada nekoliko sustava koji su bili razmatrani za eksperimentalnu primjenu. Detaljno je opisan eksperimentalni sustav s RSOA optičkim izvorom i AWG-om kao monokromatorom koji je služio za tri različita mjerenja, te su obrađeni i analizirani rezultati mjerenja.
Abstract (english)
This thesis analyzes the physical background of chromatic dispersion in fiber-optic cables. Material and waveguide dispersion, optical source spectral width, and group velocity dispersion are explained in detail. A review of three different methods and techniques of dispersion compensation, Dispersion Compensating Fiber (DCF), dispersion compensating with a varying period Fiber Bragg Grating, and electronic dispersion compensation, was given. Two different chromatic dispersion measurement systems, with two different measurement techniques were analyzed in detail. Schematics and measurement techniques for several measurement systems that were considered for experimental use. The measurement system with RSOA optic source and AWG as a monochromator, that was ultimately used in the measurement phase is explained in detail. Results from three different experimental laboratory measurements were analyzed.
