Abstract
Skladište podataka (The Data Warehouse) je sustav u čijoj se osnovi nalazi baza podataka prilagođena izvođenju složenih upita nad velikim količinama podataka (to je čini pogodnom za izgradnju sustava namijenjenih podršci poslovnom odlučivanju). Problemi s kojima se susrećemo pri izgradnji skladišta podataka u većini slučajeva su vezani uz izgradnju sustava za ekstrakciju podataka (prijenos velikih količina podataka iz izvorišnih produkcijskih sustava u bazu skladišta podataka). Kako bi se izgradnja ekstrakcijskog sustava olakšala i ubrzala, postupak izgradnje potrebno je automatizirati u što većoj mjeri. U ovom radu bit će predložen sustav za generiranje programskog koda procedura koje sudjeluju u određenim fazama ekstrakcije podataka (otkrivanje promjena u izvorišnom sustavu, obrada sporih promjena, punjenje podataka u bazu skladišta podataka). Ovakav sustav otklanja potrebu za pisanjem i testiranjem jednog dijela ekstrakcijskog programa, te na taj način olakšava te znatno smanjuje vrijeme potrebno za izgradnju skladišta podataka.
Abstract (english)
The Data Warehouse is a system which main component is a database optimized for complex queries performed on large sets of data, making it suitable for decision support system development. Problems which occur during data warehouse development are mostly connected with the development of a data extraction system (transferring large amounts of data from source production systems to data warehouse database). In order to make the development easier and faster it is necessary to automate the development process as much as possible. In this thesis a code generator system is presented. This system creates procedures involved in certain phases of data extraction (detection of changes in source systems, management of slowly changing dimensions and loading data in a data warehouse database). Such a system eliminates the need for coding and testing of a part of an extraction program. In this the code generator system makes the development process easier and lessens the time needed for the development of data warehouse.
