Abstract
Pružanje usluga u javnim informacijskim sustavima postaje sve složenije. Radi lakšeg ostvarivanja usluga razvijaju se posrednički sustavi koji pojednostavljuju razvoj novih i olakšavaju održavanje postojećih usluga javnih informacijskih sustava. MidArc posrednik je primjer posredničkog sustava razvijan u suradnji Ericsson Nikola Tesle i Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva. MidArc posrednik u svojem radu koristi sustav gospodarenja podacima za dodavanje, brisanje, mijenjanje i dohvaćanje različitih podataka javnog informacijskog sustava. Sustav gospodarenja podacima izveden je u dva sloja: sloj Spremište Podatka i sloj Pristup Podacima. Spremište Podataka sprema podatke sustava u relacijske baze podatka i hijerarhijske baze podatka direktorije. Pristup Podacima jest programski sloj koji omogućava jednostavan pristup podacima u Spremištu Podatka, putem strogo definiranog programskog sučelja. Unutar Pristupa Podacima pozivi funkcija sučelja preoblikuju se u pozive relacijskih i hijerarhijskih baza podatka standardnim protokolima. Nadalje, sloj Pristup Podacima ostvaruje priručne memorije i međuspremnike pomoću kojih se ubrzava pristup podacima. U sklopu rada izmjerena su osnovna svojstva ostvarenog sustava gospodarenja podacima i uspoređena sa svojstvima drugih mogućih rješenja sustava gospodarenja podacima.
Abstract (english)
Development, provision, and usage of services in public information systems is becoming increasingly more complicated. Middleware systems are developed in order to simplify provision and development of new services, and to ease the maintenance of existing services. MidArc mediator is a middleware system developed in collaboration of Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Faculty of electrical engineering and computing, Zagreb. MidArc mediator uses data management system to add, delete, modify, and fetch different public information system’s data. MidArc’s data management system is organized into two layers: Data Storage and Data Access layer. Data Storage layer stores system data into relational database and hierarchical database directory. Data Access layer is a software layer that enables access to the data stored in the Data Storage layer. Access to the data is made through strictly defined data access interfaces. Data Access layer transforms calls to the data access interfaces into standard database calls, and communicates with the Data Storage. Furthermore, Data Access layer implements caches and buffers to improve overall data management performance. Basic performance measurements are conducted on MidArc’s data management system, and results are compared with performances of alternative data management solutions.
