Abstract
Disertacija predlaže arhitekturu i model za ostvarivanje dinamičkog generiranja ontološki podržanih usluga Weba za dohvat podataka iz raznorodnih izvora podataka. Povezivanje tehnologije usluga Weba, ontologija i metoda generativnog programiranja omogućava izgradnju modularnog sustava za ostvarivanje usluga Weba prilagođenih pojedinačnom korisniku. Primjena ontologija u semantičkom opisu usluga Weba omogućava računalima jednoznačnu interpretaciju korisničkog upita što omogućava ili izgradnju nove usluge Weba ili prepoznavanje postojeće usluge Weba. Prednost ontološki podržanih usluga Weba za dohvat podataka u usporedbi s tradicionalnim pristupom su automatizacija ostvarenja novih usluga Weba, brz razvoj i izgradnja usluga Weba prilagođenih pojedinačnom korisničkom upitu gdje je jedanput ostvareni korisnički kôd moguće koristiti za pristup više izvora podataka. Kada korisnik ima primjenski sustav čije potrebe za podacima su opisane na način kako je opisano predloženim modelom, otkrivanje i pozivanje novih izvora podataka se može automatizirati. U tom slučaju krajnji korisnik ne treba posjedovati posebna tehnička znanja vezana uz usluge Weba i pojedine izvore podataka. U disertaciji su prezentirani način izgradnje i glavne funkcije primjenskog sustava prema predloženoj arhitekturi i modelu. Predložena arhitektura i model su testirani i provjereni na studijskom primjeru primjenskog sustava.
Abstract (english)
The dissertation proposes an architecture and a model for dynamic generation of ontology supported Web services for data retrieval from heterogeneous data sources. Binding of the Web services technology, ontology and methods of generative programming enables building up of a modular system for creation of the Web services customized to a particular user. Application of ontology in semantic description of the Web services enables the computers to unambiguously interpret user’s request which allows either creation of new Web services or recognition of the existing Web services. The most obvious advantages of the ontology-supported Web services for data retrieval compared to the traditional approach are automated implementation of new Web services, rapid development, and creation of the services customized to user’s request where ones created client code can be used to access more data sources. When user has application which needs for data are described in a way described by presented model, discovery and invocation of new data sources could be automated. In that case the end user does not need to have profound knowledge of a complex technical background. A functional architecture describing main functions of application has been presented in the dissertation. A prototype application has been developed to test and verify the proposed architecture and a model.
