Abstract
Mikrovalna i fotonička tehnologija su dva područja elektrotehnike koja imaju dramatičan utjecaj na svakidašnji život, posebice u području komunikacija. Svjedoci smo naglog rasta bežičnih komunikacijkih sustava, i da bi se taj razvoj održao potrebno je koristiti tehnologiju koja omogućava prijenos proizvoljne količine podataka na velike udaljenosti – fotoničke tehnologije. Stoga ne čudi nagli razvoj tehnoloških rješenja za svjetlovodni prijenos podataka za potrebe bežičnih mreža. Ovaj rad ima za cilj obradititi metode prijenosa radiofrekvencijskog signala preko svjetlovodne veze. Opisan je pregled razvoja bezičnih mreža te navedeni su razlozi koji su doveli do razvoja prijenosa radiofrekvencijskog signala svjetlovodnom vezom (RoF - Radio over Fiber technology). Središnji dio rada pokriva pregled komponeti koje se koriste u RoF sustavima (tzv. mikrovalne fotoničke komponente) te koncept, karakteristike i karakteristike pojedinih sustava. Obrađene su osnovne vrste prijenosa signala preko svjetlovodne veze (prijenos radiofrekvencijskog signala, intermodulacijskog signala i signala u osnovnom frekvencijskom pojasu). U završetku rada razrađena je metoda dizajniranja RoF veza te je ilustriranana na nekoliko osnovnih primjera.
Abstract (english)
Microwave and photonic technologies are two areas of electrical engineering that have a dramatic impact on everyday life, especially in the field of communications. We are witnessing a rapid growth of wireless communication systems. If we want to keep this progress going, it is necessary to use Photonic Technologies that allow transmission of arbitrary amounts of data. Therefore the rapid development of technological solutions for fiber optic data transmission for wireless networks in the last twenty years is not surprising. This Master thesis aims to cover methods of transmission of radio signals over fiber connections. The introductory chapter describes the overview of the development of wireless networks, and summarizes the reasons that led to the development of transmission of radio frequency signal on fiber links (RoF - Radio over Fiber technology). The central part covers an overview of components that are used (so-called Photonic microwave components) and also the concept, characteristics and performance of individual systems. The basic types of signal transport schemes are also introduced (RF over fiber, IF over fiber, Baseband over fiber). In the last chapter we demonstrated the method of designing RoF links through several examples.
