Electric mountainboard is a kind of an electric skateboard specially designed for driving on natural terrains. Electric mountainboard’s drive is based on electromechanical conversion electrical energy to mechanical power. The whole system can be divided into two subsystems: electrical and mechanical. BLDC motor, ESC with controller and LiPo battery are making electrical subsystem. Board, trucks, transmission and wheels are parts of mechanical subsystem. At driving, aerodynamic resistance and force of gravity are making an influence on the vehicle, acting in the opposite direction from the vehicle’s movement. On the other hand, the friction force arises as a reaction of the ground and the force on the wheel. As a result, the friction force is causing the movement of the vehicle in desired direction. The electric mountainboards are all about: velocity, range and created torque. The desired performances can be achieved by selecting the appropriate components. Also, by modifying only one component, the performances of the whole system are changed. Trampa Boards are the most powerful and the most common vehicles on the market today. But there is much more different and most used way of getting an electric mountainboard, in which the driver buys components individually and makes a vehicle from them. An electric mountainboard, comparing to an electric skateboard, is more robust, more powerful and has much greater torque. On the other side, electric skateboard is faster, lighter and cheaper.
