Abstract
Razvojem digitalnih računala otkriveno je da je Booleova algebra primjenjiva u konstruiranju i analizi rada računala jer se računala temelje na binarnom brojevnom sustavu koji je definiran nad skupom {0,1}. Međutim, implementacija neminimiziranih funkcija rezultira korištenjem skupljeg i složenijeg sklopovlja. Dakle, osnovni razlog zbog kojeg provodimo minimizaciju Booleovih funkcija je ekonomičnost. U ovom završnom radu dotaknuli smo se metoda koje se koriste za minimizaciju Booleovih funkcija. Činjenica da se sve metode nalaze na jednom mjestu je otvorila mogućnost za njihovo uspoređivanje. Iz rada se također vide mane i prednosti svake od metoda. Metode su podijeljene u dvije skupine. U prvoj skupini dotaknuli smo se tabličnih metoda minimizacije koje su prikladne za programsku implementaciju. Drugu skupinu metoda, objašnjenu u četvrtom poglavlju, čine grafičke metode minimizacije koje su prikladne za praktičnu uporabu. Korištenje svake od metoda rezultirat će ispravnim minimalnim zapisom funkcije, a na korisniku je da odabere najprikladniju metodu za svoje potrebe.
Abstract (english)
Since Claude Shannon discovered or rediscovered that truth-function logic (propositional calculus) can be used in the analysis and design of circuits composed of two valued elements, the application of these techniques has been under increased study. In utilizing this method, once the system has been formulated in terms of some logical equation or equations, the problem arises of how to manipulate this equation into the form which corresponds to the best physical equivalent. Main cause of the development of minimization methods was economy. In this bachelor thesis methods for minimization of Boolean functions have been explained. Purely the fact of all of the methods being explained in the same place opened the opportunity for their comparison. Pros and cons of every method have been stated. Methods have been divided into two sections. In the first section tabular methods for minimization, which are appropriate for program implementation, have been explained. In the second section methods based on use of graphic maps, which are simpler and more frequently used, have been explained. Use of any method will result in a correct minimal normal form of the function. It is up to the user to choose which method suits his requirements.
