Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) je koncept koji spaja tehnologiju i veliku količinu podataka koje se razmjenjuju putem interneta kako bi čovjeku kao krajnjem korisniku donijele određenu vrijednost. U ovom radu opisane su tehnologije koje se koriste za povezivanje i komunikaciju, odnosno realizaciju IoT-a. Među njima su navedene i bežične komunikacije kratkog dometa koje su prisutne u svakodnevnoj uporabi, te bežične tehnologije dugog dometa s naglaskom na LPWAN. LPWAN je mreža male snage širokog područja pokrivanja izrađena za Machine-To-Machine i IoT tehnologije. Kao glavni zadatak ovog rada bio je opisati mogućnost uporabe IoT-a i LPWAN-a u prikupljanju otpada. Pružen je primjer pametne kante za otpad integrirane s IoT middleware-om, aplikacije za nadgledanje količine otpada i optimiziranih ruta za njegovo prikupljanje. Pametno gospodarenje otpadom je ključni izazov za okoliš koji se koristi za razvoj pametnih gradova.
Abstract (english)
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that combines technology and a large amount of data that is exchanged via the Internet in order to bring a certain value to man as an end user. This paper describes the technologies used for connection and communication, and the implementation of IoT. Among them are short-range wireless communications that are present in everyday use, and long-range wireless technologies with an emphasis on LPWAN. LPWAN is a low-power, wide-area network designed for Machine-To-Machine and IoT technologies. The main task of this paper was to describe the possibility of using IoT and LPWAN in waste collection. It is given an example of a smart waste bin integrated with IoT middleware, a waste volume monitoring application and optimised routes that provide its collection. Smart waste management is a key environmental challenge used to develop smart cities.
