The topic of this undergraduate thesis is the development of a system for researching world destinations through travelogues. The undergraduate thesis can be divided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. The first part is theoretical, it describes the technologies that are used in creating the application, namely React, Node.js, Express and MongoDB. React is a JavaScript library for creating user interfaces, allowing you to compose complex user interfaces from small and isolated pieces of code called components. While Node.js is an executable environment for creating web servers. The simplest but the most powerful way to create a web server is the Express, Node.js's framework, which simplifies writing server code. MongoDB is an open-source, non-relational database management system that uses flexible documents instead of tables and rows to process and store various forms of data. The MongoDB database and Node.js are a good combination because of the Mongoose library which provides schema validation to data relationships, and it is used for translating between objects in code and represent those objects in MongoDB. The second part of the undergraduate thesis describes the development of a system for researching world destinations through travelogues. The mentioned technologies were used in the development, so that React was used on the client side, and Node.js and Express on the server side, while the MongoDB was used as database. The application allows users to publish their travelogues, read and search the stories of other users, view the top rated and the most viewed stories, view those written about the destination listed in the Seven Wonders of the World, view their own stories, view their user profiles. Also, the user can delete and edit already published stories. Using React on the client side and Node.js on the server side has proven to be a fast and powerful solution for building scalable real-time web applications.
