Abstract
This thesis described the development of augmented reality through time and showed the potential it brings in the future. Devices that provide a platform for the development of augmented reality applications, such as HoloLens, Google Glass and the everyday smartphone, have been presented. The applications of augmented reality in various industries and the impact it has on them have been analyzed. The hardware components and software algorithms that lay at the core of any augmented reality application have been explained. Furthermore, we have looked at the solutions from Apple which enable the creation of powerful AR applications for iOS and iPadOS. The collected knowledge was used to create an application that helps navigate in a new environment by displaying interesting sights in augmented reality.
Abstract (croatian)
U ovom radu proučen je začetak proširene stvarnosti kroz povijesti, njen razvitak u sadašnjosti i potencijal koji donosi u budućnosti. Prikazani su uređaji koji pružaju platformu za razvoj aplikacija proširene stvarnosti, kao što su HoloLens, Google Glass i svakidašnji pametni telefon. Analizirana je primjene proširene stvarnosti u raznim granama industrije i utjecaj koji ima na iste. Objašnjene su hardverske komponente i softverski algoritmi koji se nalaze u srži svake aplikacije za proširenu stvarnost. Nadalje, opisano je rješenje kompanije Apple kojim omogućava izradu moćnih aplikacija za proširenu stvarnost na iOS i iPadOS operativnim sustavima. Prikupljeno znanje je iskorišteno kako bi se napravila aplikacija koja pripomaže snalaženju u prostoru prikazom zanimljivih znamenitosti u proširenoj stvarnosti
