Abstract
TLS je najkorišteniji sigurnosni protokol današnjeg Interneta i zbog toga je od velike važnosti da se često održava, odnosno važno je da ide ukorak s napretkom tehnologije. To podrazumijeva dolazak novih verzija od kojih će svaka biti bolja od prethodne, tada već zastarjele, verzije. Iz toga razloga TLS verzija 1.3 predstavlja veliko refaktoriranje TLS verzije 1.2 u kojem su poboljšane ukupna sigurnost i performanse. Zadatak ovog diplomskog rada je nadogradnja TLS protokola s verzije 1.2 na verziju 1.3 unutar TCP CM projekta koji se provodi u kompaniji Ericsson Nikola Tesla. Kroz ovaj rad opisani su najbitniji dijelovi TLS protokola, kao i alati pomoću kojih je on implementiran. S ciljem lakšeg razumijevanja praktičnog dijela rada, u uvodnom dijelu rada je ukratko opisana OpenSSL biblioteka, a nadalje je detaljnije opisana i TLS verzija 1.2 te razlike između nje i TLS verzije 1.3. U praktičnom dijelu rada korišten je operacijski sustav Linux i programski jezik C. Taj dio je u ovom radu opisan kroz faze analize, implementacije i verifikacije, koje objašnjavaju sve korake od početka do kraja ovog projekta.
Abstract (english)
TLS protocol is the most used security protocol on the Internet today and for that reason it is important for it to be regularly maintained and up-to-date with the latest technologies. This implies the arrival of new versions, each better than the previous, already outdated, version. For that reason TLS version 1.3 is said to be a big refactoring of TLS version 1.2 in which overall security and performances are enhanced. This master’s thesis is mainly focused on the security upgrade from TLS protocol version 1.2 to version 1.3 within TCP CM project which is carried out in Ericsson Nikola Tesla company. The most important parts of TLS protocol are described, as well as tools used to implement it. With the goal of easier understanding of the practical part of this thesis, in its opening chapters OpenSSL library is shortly described and further on the TLS protocol is explained in more details. Differences between TLS version 1.2 and TLS version 1.3 are also given. In practical part of this thesis Linux operating system and C programming language were used. That part of this thesis is explained through phases of analysis, implementation and verification which show all steps from the beginning to the end of the project.
