Abstract
Plovila, kao što su mornaričke fregate i oceanski brodovi, imaju magnetske potpise zbog željeza u njihovoj konstrukciji. Statička magnetizacija tipične veličine fregate plovila je oko 10000 nT na dubini kobilice. Tehnologije smanjenja potpisa kao što su depermiranje i demagnetiziranje to mogu smanjiti na oko 1000 − 2000 nT. Trup i pogonski dijelovi plovila izrađuju se od različitih metala, stvarajući koroziju u dodiru s morskom vodom. Električna struja zbog korozije uzrokuje električno i magnetsko polje. Pogon broda dovodi do izmjeničnih električnih polja na frekvenciji osovine i njezinim harmonicima.
Abstract (english)
Vessels, such as naval frigates and ocean liners, have magnetic signatures due to the iron in their construction. The static magnetization of a typical size frigate vessel is about 10000 nT at beam depth. Signature reduction technologies such as deperming and demagnetization can reduce this to about 1000 − 2000 nT. The hull and propulsion parts of the vessel are made of different metals, creating corrosion in contact with seawater. Electric current due to corrosion causes an electric and magnetic field. The propulsion of the ship gives rise to alternating electric fields at the frequency of the shaft and its harmonics.
